Greg has been in the Financial Services Profession since 1984, starting as a Life Underwriter with Imperial Life of Canada. In 1989 Greg joined Dorson Financial Services as Director of this leading Independent Financial Advisory firm in Nottingham, England; eventually taking the company over. In 1991 Greg completed (by examination through the Chartered Insurance Institute) the Financial Planning Certificate and in 1992 completed the equivalent of what is now the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate. He was actively involved in the Life Insurance Association in the UK rising to the role of Chairman of the East Midlands Region in 1998, as well as being a regular Industry Speaker.
In 1993 Greg got involved with the prestigious ”Million Dollar Round Table” (MDRT) which represents the top 5% of Professional Financial Advisers from all over the world. The next year he qualified for ”Court of the Table” which represents the top 1% of Advisers and has done so every year since, culminating in continual membership of ”Top of the Table” from 2006 onwards. He has also been a volunteer for this Group, serving on various committees including the “Constitution & Bylaws Committee” which formulates ethical standards for all Advisers worldwide.
In 2001, Greg merged his company with CRP Marketing Ltd to form a new company: Ample Financial Services, becoming joint CEO. As his Clients became more and more international (including celebrities) it was natural for him to begin to specialize in offshore planning for ex-patriates, and he did this by being headhunted to come to Dubai in 2005, however he remained as a Consultant to Ample which is now run by Greg’s co-founder and business partner.
Greg is unusual for the GCC region in that he is fully professionally qualified to UK standards of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He specializes in providing advice on Life Insurance, Critical Illness Benefit, Investments, Medical Insurance, Mortgages and Pensions to ex-pat High Net Worth Individuals and SME business owners and is currently working with Pinnacle Asset & Wealth Management based in Dubai.

I find this report incredible! Firstly, how do you collect your money if you can’t retire here? Secondly, apart from the UK (which is largely in deficit) most European Pensions are hopelessly underfunded (because they rely on taxation of future generations rather than actual deduction from the current generation and investment). Lastly, it appears this will be funded by salary deduction here, and the money invested by the UAE government, and we know how good they are – just look at Nakheel! What a mess/joke!! Leave it to the professionals I say, but then again I would. Who do you trust – an offshore Insurance Company with over 200 years experience or an onshore government that spends like there is no tomorrow and can’t pay its way………….??

” Two food related stories from across the globe. First stop, Castle Vale, Birmingham, England. Over in the UK, Stacey Irvine has a very simple diet. The 17-year-old has been eating nothing but chicken nuggets every day since she was two! For 15 years this girl has eaten only chicken nuggets for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
On the down side, she is currently facing a health dilemma based on her diet. Doctors said that she has anaemia, and swollen veins on her tongue. On the plus side, 15 years of eating chicken nuggets has provided the teen with hundreds of toys and novelties that she received with her nugget meals. She plans to sell the toys to raise money to buy more nuggets. It’s the circle of life.
In Vancouver, British Columbia, Dougie Dog, a local hot dog restaurant, has unveiled a $100 foot long dog that contains cognac, lobster, and Kobe beef. Dougie has called his creation the Dragon Dog in honour of the Chinese year of the hot dog. All I know is that for $100 a person could either get one hot dog, or approximately 500 chicken nuggets. Decisions, decisions.
